Join us on a 7-day minimal gear walkabout through the wildlands of the coast mountains

Walk wild in the mountains with minimal gear and find the need for kinship with plant, animal, & human alike


WHY JOIN?

You wish to gain experience and confidence in land-based living skills through the ethos of knowing more and carrying less. This trip is an opportunity to challenge yourself by being immersed in a scenario that will create real needs to find as much comfort through practising the essential primitive skills of fire, shelter, water, food acquisition and group living skills while travelling through the coast mountain wildlands.

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

  • Travelling by foot during early fall in the mountains for 7 days and 8 nights in a small group

  • Bringing minimal gear meaning a wool blanket, knife, water carrier, and a small quantity of food (ie. no modern camping gear)

  • Learning and practising navigation techniques to route-find our way off-trail

  • Learn how to identify and respectfully gather medicinal & edible plants

  • Learn how to read the track and sign of wildlife and birds

  • Connecting to your own wildness and freedom in the natural world

  • Practice personal and group responsibility

WHAT’S REQUIRED?

Wool blanket, hiking boots, suitable outdoor clothing for all weather conditions, etc. A detailed list can be sent upon inquiry.
